Lifeforce (1985)

A team of British-American astronauts, aboard the space shuttle Churchill, is conducting a survey on Halley's Comet and soon discover a strange ship hidden in the corona of the comet. Upon closer investigation, they discover the seemingly derelict craft to contain not only dead bat-like creatures (the size of a human) but also 3 occupants in a sleep like state - 2 men and 1 woman. They decide to bring them onboard. 30 days later the Churchill is on approach to Earth with no signs of activity. Mission control sends up a rescue team to find a ship that has dead crew, a burned interior, a lifepod missing and the alien cargo - the humanoids in deep sleep - very much intact.

It makes a refreshing change to watch a horror film where 90% of the cast is British. The last time I saw something like that was Alien 3, not forgetting Dog Soldiers and 28 Days Later, but still, a fairly nice change! You even get to see Patrick Stewart! He isn't the star but has a minor role. The creature effects are fairly well done for the time and the story is pretty good.

Most Goriest Moment: As Carlsen and Caine are being taken back from the psychiatric hospital, via helicopter, the female alien escapes Dr. Armstrong's heavily sedated body and tries to contact Carlsen using the blood from Armstrong and the man from the Home Office to make her animated face.
