The Possession of Michael King (2014)
Note: Since this is going up after Halloween I will be stopping this on Day 4. I couldn't do any others because on a couple of days I was out till late - once with work and another was an event. However, I did enjoy this and will try and give 7 days worth of films for next year!
The Possession of Michael King is a found footage horror film that depicts Michael King as a skeptic in God and Satan, after his wife dies in a car accident. So he sets up cameras in his home, on himself and enlists the help of a camera person to document his findings. These include partaking in a necromancy and a satanist ritual to prove that Satan and God do not exist. However, as time goes on Michael begins to see and experience strange things and events then get more and more out of Michael's control.
For a found footage film, I thought this was a good attempt at delivering that style of film, true there are occasions that the cameras are actually not part of his setup but it doesn't distract too much from the film. The scares that the film gives were well edited and well earned and the pacing wasn't too rushed.
Scariest moment: The psychartrist scene with the flashing lights - I'm not going to reveal any further.
